SEARCH ME OH LORD

Main text: Psalm 139:23-24 – Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts; And see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalms 51:17 – The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

God knew that we are not perfect yet he sent his Son to die for us. He knew that it is only in him that we would be made perfect. It is important to ask yourself each day where your heart is, is your heart right with God? Or are you trying to please God with your outward actions?

God wants a broken spirit, one humble enough to look inwardly and acknowledge that they are not perfect. In our world today, it is so easy to focus on taking care of the physical body, but pay little attention to who we are becoming on the inside of us. We often hear in the medical world that a healthy habit to develop is mental check. In the same manner, a healthy spiritual habit to develop is to check your inner being constantly.

The bible is very particular on the relationship between who we are on the inside and what we produce outwardly – ‘…For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45). The beauty in allowing God to search within us is that we draw closer to God, and we become a better version of us.
Embrace the grace of God today; humbly seek him as you work on becoming the best version of yourself.

Surrender yourself to him, and allow him to search you and cleanse you of anything that keeps you from growing intimacy with him. Pray today that he fill your heart with his love as he abides in you.

I SURRENDER TO YOU OH LORD, SERACH ME AND KNOW MY HEART

Prayer: Create in me a clean heart that is thirty of doing your commands O! Lord
