POSSESS A TEACHABLE SPIRIT
Main Text: Proverbs 15:12 – A scoffer loveth not to be reproved; He will not go unto the wise.
Proverbs 15:32 – He that refuseth correction despiseth his own soul; But he that hearkeneth to reproof getteth understanding.
To be ‘Teachable’ means to be willing to learn, unlearn and relearn. One who has a teachable spirit is one who desires to learn, unlearn and relearn impactful things. This person also constantly evaluates oneself towards becoming an improved person. Do you have a teachable spirit? Are you willing to admit and turn away from your mistakes?
The following are the benefits of possessing a teachable spirit: 1. It shows that you are humble which attracts the favour of God upon your life. James 4:6. 2. It makes you to follow through at the master’s feet (i.e. becoming a good disciple of Jesus Christ) Philippians 3:13-14. 3. A teachable spirit gives room for the Holy Spirit to use. 4. David was called a man after God own heart because of his willingness to repent from his mistakes or sins at any given time. Act 13:22; Psalm 51:3. Finally, a teachable spirit is a grateful heart and whose end is always prosperous.
The teachable spirit enjoys a more fulfilled life and God loves such to work with. How do you react when someone is correcting you?
A TEACHABLE SPIRIT WILL ESCAPE DESTRUCTION AND WASTES
PRAYER – Lord Jesus, direct my steps to greener pastures. Give me your rod and staff when I need them.
