WALK WORTHY OF YOUR CALLING

WALK WORTHY OF YOUR CALLING

MAIN TEXT: Ephesians 4:1 – I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called

1 Corinthians 7:17 – Only, as the Lord hath distributed to each man, as God hath called each, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all the churches.

Nothing is pressed more earnestly in the scriptures than to walk as is expected of those called to Christ’s kingdom and glory. By lowliness, understand humility which is opposed to pride. There is one Christ, in whom all believers hope, and one heaven we all hope for; therefore we should be of one heart. As believers of Christ, we should take heed of everything contrary to the truth – truth according to the word of God and according to our calling.

The principle of love in the heart and the outward expression of it in a humble and courteous behaviour is set forth before us. It is God’s forgiveness that causes us to forgive. The corrupt passions of bitterness, anger, evil- speaking and malice grieve the Holy Spirit, but we are warned not to provoke the Holy and blessed Spirit of God, so that He will not withdraw His presence and His gracious influence.

Our salvation in Christ must be cherished and carefully lived because it is a great privilege that God gave us this grace. Many people do not have this grace of salvation and some have desired it but it has not reached them. The call of salvation is a divine treasure to man. Do not frustrate the grace of God upon your life. God and everything is watching.

DO NOT BE A SPIRITUAL DISGRACE OR SPIRITUALLY IMPOTENT

Prayer: O God, help me to live a life worthy of my calling in Jesus name. Amen
