LIVE TO GIVE 1
MAIN TEXT: ACTS 20:35
I have showed you all things how that so labouring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said, it is more blessed to give than to receive. (AKJV)
2 CORINTHIANS 9:7
Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity for God loves a cheerful giver. (AKJV)
Giving is one of God’s attributes. He gave to man before, during and after making man. God gave man everything he needed to be comfortable and survive. God gave man day and night for him to work and rest respectively, the sun, moon and stars were given as light in the day and night, plants and animals, water and animals were given for food.
During creation, God gave man Himself by breathing into man’s nostrils and man became a living being, He gave man His power and authority to create by asking this man to name all He created and continue to create and recreate. God gave man coverage even when man sinned. He continued to give man prophets and priests to guide and make atonements for man. He gave His only Son to be sacrificed as a permanent sacrifice for man’s sins and also gave His power; through the Holy Spirit to stay with man always to guide and guard him. Good is a great giver.
Our creator; God is a perfect example of a true giver and He has given us all things that pertains to life and godliness so that we will succeed and also learn how best to give in all seasons of life notwithstanding.
BECOMING A TRUE GIVER IS ALSO A WAY OF LIVING THE LIFE OF GOD
PRAYER: My Father, I ask that my hands will not lack to give more and I will not give for self glorification.
