DIVINE MERCY SETTLES IT
MAIN TEXT: ROMANS 9:15 – For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.
ROMANS 8:1 – Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
No condemnation! Though we’ve failed repeatedly and still stumble, we are forgiven and free! The question for us who have called on the Lord is not, “Am I condemned?” The question for us is, “Am I in Christ?” Being in Christ is the only solution.
God’s mercy—His wondrous compassion—leads Him to forgive sinners and withhold the punishment that is justly deserved. After the Lord graciously led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, through the Red Sea, and toward the Promised Land, they responded by revolting against God. Yet, because of the favor obtained through their mediator, Moses, God was pleased to lavish His mercy on them.
The condemnations, disappointments and rejections that you face are now going to be to the glory of God. His Mercy cancels curses. Breaks yokes and gives eternal peace. This is your portion. Today, Christ is our Mediator and who is the Mercy Himself. What a privilege of blessing! He says to you, go and sin no more.
