A RANSOM FOR ALL
Main text: 1 Timothy 2:6 – “Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Matthew 20:28: just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Ransom is a means of deliverance or rescue from punishment for sin, especially the payment of a redemptive fine. Is a means of liberation from bondage and oppression. The first man, Adam was created perfect or without sin. He had the prospect of living forever but lost it by choosing to disobey God. When he had children, he passed on to them the defect of sin (Romans 5:12). For this reason, the Bible indicates that Adam “sold” himself and his children into slavery to sin and death. Being imperfect, none of them could buy back what Adam lost (Psalm 49:7-8). God felt compassion for Adam’s descendants in their hopeless situation.

However, God’s standard of Justice required that He not simply overlook or excuse their sins without a valid basis. God loves mankind so He provided the necessary legal means for their sins to be not only forgiven but also eliminated, thereby giving His only son Jesus Christ, who gave His life as a ransom for all. He gave his life as a means of liberating us from sin and bondage.
The death of Jesus Christ is seen as a ransom to release all of us from the bondage of sin. He paid what we cannot pay so that we may go free. He substituted Himself for all and at the cost of His life, we all got our freedom.

In our main text, we are meant to understand that the Son of God came not to be served buy to serve and give His life as a ransom for many. The verse pointed out that Jesus Christ is the one and only mediator and reconciler between God and men. This verse explains that Christ serves this purpose by becoming the payment for our sins and today we all have our freedom from sin, bondage and oppression from the enemy, the devil.

THE SON OF GOD, JESUS CHRIST GAVE HIS LIFE TO SAVE US ALL.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, have mercy on me and purge me from sin and make me pure to stand before your presence.
