ARE YOU ROOTED IN CHRIST?

Main text: Colossians 2:6 -7 – As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

1Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

To be rooted in Christ, means you are wholly dependent on Jesus Christ. Trust in Christ your Lord and Savior, and draw strength from Him in every part of your life for everything you may ever want or need. You have a strong desire to know Him, to have faith in Him even when it’s difficult to understand, to spend time in His presence daily to grow stronger in your faith. As we desire to grow in the Lord, we must understand that there is no real growth without roots. It is essential that we be grounded in our faith.

The times in which we live are changing times, where Good is considered evil and verse versa. The moral fabric of our nation has change. Leaders have become followers. There is a departure from the faith. There are those who once stood for truth and justice, which are no longer standing. What was never tolerated in Church is now invited into the Church.

Yet, in every generation God has had a remnant, those who have taken the word of the Lord seriously. We must stand so that the generations to follow will know where to stand. Above all the happenings, it is essential that we ground ourselves and root ourselves in Christ, by so doing, you must walk in Him, live for him and let Him live through you because the deeper the roots, the stronger the tree.

We must be rooted in the word of God. Our daily intake of God’s word is vital for deep roots, and to be established in the faith. As believer in Christ, we have been rooted in Christ and we need to grow in Him and be built up in Him by spending adequate time with the Lord in His word to absorb His riches. We need to realize that we have been rooted into Christ, as living beings, we are like plants that have been rooted into the rich soul of Christ.

BEING ROOTED IN CHRIST KEEPS US GROUNDED AND SETTLED

Prayer: God, grant me the grace to be deeply rooted in Christ and do not allow the storms of life pull me down.
