POWER IN ASSOCIATION
MAIN TEXT: Leviticus 26:8 ‘’Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.’’
Ecclesiastes 4:9 – ‘’Two are better than one because they have a good return for their work.’’
No one is sufficient by themselves. We all need the company and support of others, at one time or the other, to progress. They say, no man is an island. And, a tree cannot make a forest. You require people who support you emotionally, mentally and spiritually. As one person, you cannot chase above a thousand, but with more than one, you can chase ten thousand.
Imagine the difference! Your duty is to identify those who share the same values with you, and work with them. In as much as, you require people around you, keep away from those, who try to belittle your vision. One person can only carry a burden so far on their own. One American author committed suicide because, his work could not be published. If only he had surrounded himself with friends who knew how to share his burdens, encourage him when he faced rejection and motivate him to keep going, his life would have turned out very differently.
Find people who believe in you. Encourage and support them in return. Spend more time with those who sharpen you and make you better, and spend less time with those who drain your energy, time, and talent. The truth is, friends who speak well into your life, are priceless. Their words are like apples of gold in settings of silver.
