COME AND TASTE

MAIN TEXT: Matthew 11:28 ‘’Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.’’

Psalm 34:8 ‘’Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.’’

You cannot know God’s love, care, or mercy from afar. You must come close to him. For you to really access our heavenly father, you must come to a real relationship with him. As long as you are far from God, many of the miracles we hear about today, and the ones Jesus did in the bible, will continue to sound as a fairy tale to you. Jesus said. ‘Come…. all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’’

You will not know the rest of God, until you come to a level of personal relationship with God. What God desires from His children is wholehearted devotion to Him. He wants us to relate to Him as our refuge, fortress, Lord and Savior. Until the woman of Samaria encountered Jesus closely, she did not believe that He was indeed the messiah. She probably had heard about Jesus before that meeting – His teachings, healing of the sick, raising of the dead to life and restoring of sight to the blind.

I am convinced that Jesus travelled that path because of her. The moment she allowed her heart to open to Jesus, her life and testimony changed. Hear her. ‘’come and see the man who told me all I ever did’’. She became a blessed woman. You, too, can receive God’s blessing if you will come and taste.

GOD IS EXPECTING YOU TO COME CLOSER TO HIM

Prayer: O God, cause me to experience you in ways I have not tasted you before in my life, in Jesus name. Amen.
