RETURN TO GOD’S ALTAR
MAIN TEXT: Deuteronomy 4:29 ‘’But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you find him with all your heart and with all your soul.’’
‘’If you return to the Lord, then your brothers and your children will be shown compassion by their captors and will come back to this land, for the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you, if you return.’’ 2Chron. 30:9
It is time to retrace your steps and find your way back to God. Falling does not glorify God in any way, nor does He delight in us staying fallen. God knows your every weakness and understands your limitations. In the Christian journey, there are many road blocks to cause one to stumble and fall.
Here, you have a choice: you can stay fallen or allow God to guide you through. Do not let guilt rob you of the grace of God through the atoning blood of Christ. What God requires from us is acknowledgement of our shortcomings, confession and repentance from sin, don’t avoid God or let guilt keep you down. Bemoaning your weaknesses and blaming it on the devil is a coward’s way out.
When and if you fall, kick the devil out of your matter and surrender it all to God, he will welcome you back. Remember the prodigal son? Always bear it in mind that your heavenly father is just and righteous, he will forgive you and cleanse you from every sin. It is because of you and the circumstances of our journey from earth to heaven that Jesus went to the cross.
‘’DRAW NEAR TO GOD AND HE WILL DRAW TO YOU WITH MERCY’’.
Prayer point: Lord, I return to you today, I have sinned against you by turning away from you. Forgive and cleanse me from sin. I will live for you from now on., in Jesus name.
