HUMILITY DISGRACES PRIDE
Main text – James 4:6 – “But he giveth more grace, wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
James 4:10 – “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He shall lift you up”.
God wants His children to walk in true humility and to avoid pride like a plague because pride brings disgrace and destruction. As a matter of truth, God resists the proud, but with humility there is grace and wisdom; two principal ingredients of success in time and eternity.
The Bible says with humility comes wisdom. This means when true humility shows up, wisdom must accompany it. People that are truly humble walk in great wisdom, and they succeed greatly in life, but if you walk in pride, you will not and cannot succeed in life.
Beloved, the call of God to you and me today is to humble ourselves under the mighty hands of God and choose to walk in humility all the days of our lives and we will be reckoned amongst the great.
It is good to humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord, so that He will lift us up. Finally, humility disgraces pride if we rebuke the spirit of pride and cast it out of our lives, submit ourselves totally to God and ask Him to help us walk in humility all the days of our lives.
HUMILITY DRAWS GOD CLOSER TO GOD
