BATTLES AT THE GATE
MAIN TEXT: 2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (KIV)

Beloved, belief not every Spirit, but try the Spirits whether they are of God: because many prophets are gone out into the world.
A gate is a moveable barrier hinged to a fence or wall to lock friends, enemies, animals or vehicles out of the house, office complex, city, estate, animal pens, parks, Military garrisons, Ports, country borders etc. The aim is to control entry and exit. There are also spiritual gates of your heart, mind and emotions. Whosoever that controls the gate has dominion in his/her grasp but, if you lose control of the gate then, there is trouble. The intruder or unwanted person or things will come in and make decisions over you that may cause harm, loss, torment or even destruction. The two personalities that knock at the gate of your heart are the Spirit of God and the devil; each of them battling to convince you to open the gate/door of your heart for them to come in.
I want to remind you that the mission of the devil is to kill, to steal and to destroy a person. To accomplish this, he employs his war strategies. He will come with the strategy of “it doesn’t matter”. “In fact, church is in the mind”, “if you must go to Church, just go and worship God don’t get involved in anything” etc.
All these are geared towards justifying evil, but thank God for His Spirit who will gently and compassionately appeal to you to disregard all those sensible nonsense. To fight and win these battles, you need the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God (Jesus). Jesus said he is the good shepherd, he knows his sheep and they know him and his voice. How much of him do you know and possess? Your good knowledge of him is the weapon you need to fight the devil out of your life. Today, the glorious weapon is made available to you, go for it, keep and preserve it and you will always be a winner.
