ENGAGE YOUR MIND POSITIVELY

MAIN TEXT : PHILIPPIANS 4:8
Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are good report; if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.

PSALM 119 :11
Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.

The mind is the ‘spiritual parlor’ of the Complex being called Man. It is also the venue for all the spiritual fights against the devil. Every action a man takes in life passes first through his mind as thought, idea, advice etc, from that he sees , reads or hears.

If he entertains or gives room to these spiritual visitors in his mind, they would set up enticing imaginations, thereby subduing his mind and when it’s accepted, the heart (Bedroom of the Soul) welcomes it. Inside the heart , romance between the visitors and the man’s soul starts. And as he thinks upon these visitors, his life is influenced or controlled by it (thoughts).

Therefore, our anchor scripture urges us to engage our mind with powerful positive thoughts. And since thinking affects living ; quality thinking equals quality living, hence, not to think well is to stink.

Finally, if you want to please God, engage your mind with His Word through studying and prayerfully meditating on it.

THE MIND THAT IS WITHOUT GOD IS THE DEVIL’S FACTORY
