SPREAD GOD’S LOVE

SPREAD GOD’S LOVE

Main Text: John 13:34-35 –  A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

1 John 4:7-8 – Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Jesus Christ commands us today to love one another just as He loves us. When we love our neighbour, we are identified as Christ followers. Christian love is not an impulse from a feeling. It doesn’t always run with natural inclinations. It seeks the welfare of all.

It is only known by the actions that it prompts. If there is no action, there is no love. Love is only known by the actions that it prompts. When you open your mouth and spew out evil words to a person, it signifies that you hate them. Love opens its mouth and speaks good words.

We can spread the love within us through little things. Good deeds don’t always have to be huge, like giving a billion dollars to some charity or volunteering 20 hours a day at a soup kitchen. Though both are good, but we can show Jesus’ love in the little things too, like offering a person a listening ear, showing compassion, extending forgiveness, being the first to apologize, or letting someone else go first in a busy line.

Just as our heavenly Father first loved us and demonstrated service through His Son Jesus, we too can show that love in simple acts of kindness. Accept freely the act of grace that God has bestowed upon you and freely share it with those around you.

LOVE IS THE WAY YOU ACT TOWARDS PEOPLE AT ALL TIMES.

Prayer Point: Lord, grant us the ability to love in deed, truth, in practice and in sincerity.
