PUT ON CHRIST
MAIN TEXT – ROMANS 13:14 – But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh to fulfill the lusts thereof.
Galatians 5:16 – So I say live by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
How we dress defines us. God is telling us to put on Christ, let our fashion be that of Christ. Putting on CHRIST and him alone, not having anything to do with the lust of this world. Our Christian fashion should not have any addition of worldliness, it will be contradicting God’s nature when people observe the life we live. We are to live wholly and solely for the Lord. Identifying God’s desires, purposes and plans and follow them accordingly. We can put on Christ by total dependence on God’s word for molding, guidance and living no matter what others may say.
Bear this in mind that whenever a believer decides to live entirely for Christ, the devil fears him because he loses his manipulative power over that Christian. Submitting to the gospel of Jesus Christ totally modifies our character and reasoning to suit the divine nature. We will no longer be tossed up and down by problems and satan. We become victors and not victims. The Clothe of Christ is Righteousness, a sanctified life carries divine righteousness and with such garment the enemy cannot touch the Christian. The kind of garment we put on defines where we stand in Christ.
It is time for us to come to the place where we choose Christ above everything and live for Him in spite of pains, mockery, difficulties and intimidations. He is the master over these and He knows how to handle them. Trust Him and He will take care of you to make you stand out.
