GOD IS THE ULTIMATE 1

GOD IS THE ULTIMATE 1

Main text: Matthew 6:33- But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Proverbs 3:6 – In all thy way acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

There are so many things that clamour for our attention and devotion; our jobs, kids, spouses, hobbies, the demands and distractions of life. And we have to be careful not to let them become more important or more of a priority than our relationship with God. Your personal relationship with Christ offers truly amazing possibilities.

Like a German writer, Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe would say, “things which matter most won’t be at the mercy of things which matter least”, which is self explanatory. When God gave the 10(ten) commandments at Mount Sinai, He thundered these words,” I am the God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the land of bondage. You shall not have another god before me” (Exodus 20:2-3). God does not want us to place anything before Him. His desire is that we worship Him and Him alone. Making Him our ultimate, He must come first in our lives.

It is unfortunate that some people often do not seek God first. They seek everything else before they seek God. We should learn to depend on God for our provisions instead of worrying about how we will obtain them. Learn to make Him your highest consideration, even before your finances, family or friendships. Yes. Those things are all important, but their true purpose can only be experienced through the lens of daily friendship with Jesus. When your eyes look to Him first in everything, a whole universe of resources, power and goodness is made available to you.

MAKE GOD YOUR UTMOST PRIORITY

Prayer:  Jesus, I want to keep my focus on you, Help me to make you my top priority so that the devil has no power over my mind.
