OUR REFUGE AND STRENGHT 2
Main text: Psalm 46:1- God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 91:2 – I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
In times of trouble, you can count on God. When things are changing and threatening around you, focus your attention on God. He is with you; you have His presence, since you have His spirit within. He is your refuge, since you have his protection and he helps you by his power.
No matter the situations that arise, we can cast our care upon God because He cares for us. We lift our burdens off our shoulders and put them on God. If we have anxiety about anything, we make our requests known to God. Philippians 4:7 says ” the peace of God shall guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” By having access to God and turning to Him with our requests, we have peace. When you make God your refuge and strength, then the promises he made to us in Psalm 91:9-16 follows us.
Recognizing God as your strength attracts a unique kind of grace that connects you to your divine helpers but relying on man without God, disconnects us from divine assistance. The God that helped Joseph in Egypt and made him an honourable Prime Minister will answer to you this year.
