MIND THE TRAPS

MAIN TEXT: JUDGES 16:6
And Delilah said to Samson, tell me, I pray you, wherein your great strength lies, and wherewith you might be bound to afflict you. (AKJV)

MARK 12:15
Shall we give, or shall we not give? But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them why tempt you me? Bring me a penny, that I may see it. (AKJV)

Trap, means to trick or lead someone dishonestly into doing something. This is the characteristics of Satan the devil; God and man’s arch enemy. He is God’s enemy because he is in constant war with the Word of God and man’s enemy because he wants to stop man by all means from being son of God. He does so by causing man to offend God and consequently, man will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

The devil does this by setting different types of trap for man. These traps are seen in Galatians 5:19-21. It is very important that you mind these traps so that you are not enslaved to the devil. In today’s main text, Sampson did not mind the trap set before him by the Philistines. He could not resist the lust of the flesh and on the laps of Delilah revealed the source of his strength. The glory of the God departed from him and the Philistines bound him. Judas Iscariot, because of greed and love of money did not mind the trap set by the Chief Priests, Scribes and Elders of the people to kill Jesus, he collected money from them and betrayed his master, Jesus and he lost his sonship position as a child of God and a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Today, the Word of the Lord is coming to you to mind these traps of the devil. You can only do that by having Jesus Christ and knowing that He alone is the source of all things you need in life. Joseph knew and minded the trap set before him by Potiphar’s wife to sleep with her and sin against God and his master, Potiphar and he had to flee from the scene and in the long run he was made a prime minister by his master in a nation where he had been a slave and a prisoner.

GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT YOUR HEART AND RECEIVE POWER TO OVERCOME THE TRAPS OF THE ENEMY

PRAYER: Sweet Spirit Divine, I surrender my life unto you, help me to overcome the traps of the enemy in my life, In Jesus name. Amen!
