CHRIST’S COMMODITY
MAIN TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 6:19 “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.’’
1 Corinthians 6:20 ‘’you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.’’
Adam and Eve sold us out when they ate the forbidden fruit – the fruit of death. The devil did not waste time in buying man. Man was disconnected from his Maker. Fellowship with God was broken as a result of that. So, man became and remained a pawn in the hand of the devil until Jesus came with His blood and repurchased us. He redeemed and restored us back to fellowship with the Father. Christ broke the barrier sin imposed on us.
Man could not freely commune with his creator without a go-in-between like a priest. Jesus went to hell through His death on the cross to demand your release from captivity. And He did it with His blood. You owed a debt you could not pay and which could never be cancelled without an exchange, Jesus paid it. By sin, we incur a debt. When you sin, you become a debtor to the devil, and he can never write off any debt.
He demanded blood for payment. Clearly no one could pay it, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). So, Jesus stepped up and offered Himself. At the cross, God took all your sin and put it in Christ’s account and took all Christ’s righteousness and put it on your account. And the moment you trust Christ as your savior, you are no longer under the sentence of death. The value of something is determined by the price a buyer is willing to pay for it. At Calvary, God said this is how much I love you! Your creator became your Redeemer. You are no longer the owner of your life; Christ is.
GOD HAS OWNERSHIP RIGHTS OVER YOU
PRAYER: Oh Lord my God, I acknowledge that you are my LORD, I surrender my life totally to you. Take over my life
